The Backyard Neighbors

What’s in your backyard? Do you know who you share a home with? Birds, spiders, snakes, squirrels, and toads maybe? And if so what kind? What about the trees, flowers, grasses, and weeds? All of these things share Mother Earth (known as Pachamama in Quechua) with us. They are our beautiful neighbors and have spirits and amazing stories to tell just like us. In shamanism, the properties of things found in the natural world are referred to as medicine. For example, the cardinal you see in your tree sometimes. It sings a sweet song right where it is, its bright plumage inspires joy. The medicine it offers is for you to be comfortable with being seen and sing your own song with a joyful heart. Pondering your non-human neighbors is a great way to raise the awareness of Pachamama’s abundant beauty and find your medicine!

Come see what we’ve got going on in our backyard at the Chacana Spiritual Center at 2299-B Sarno Road, Melbourne FL 32935 on April 26th for our Grand Opening and Shamanic Mystic Fair! Stay tuned!
